7. Heating and Air
Conditioning
• Demisting performance (does A/C
de-mist windscreen properly?)
• Damp/odour (run on hot and cold)
• Heat output (is the temperature
control working?)
8. Windscreen
• Chips, cracks (colder weather can
cause small chips to turn into large
cracks)
• Dirt/smears (clean glass is less
likely to fog up)
9. Tyres
• Tread depth (1.6mm legal
minimum)
• Cracks/splits/wear (consider
replacing)
• Pressures (check your owner
manual)
• Spare tyre/repair kit (check it’s in
the car and usable)
10. Wiper Blades/Screen
Wash
• Smears on windscreen? (if so try
cleaning)
• Clean? (if visibly oily clean with
vinegar)
• Cracks/splits? (if so replace)
• Smooth movement (check hinges)
• Screenwash level (check your
owner manual)
• Screenwash strength (top up with
undiluted solution if need be)
